How it works

Three steps, about a minute

  2. See the risks

High, medium and low, with the exact words matched.

The guide

What the checker looks for

  • Other platforms: Android or Google Play in an App Store listing, iPhone or iOS in a Google Play listing.
  • Claims in the name: "free", "best", "#1", "new" or "sale" in titles and short texts.
  • Other companies' brands, for example Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat. Use them only with permission.
  • Unfinished text: lorem ipsum, TODO, TBD and bracketed placeholders.
  • Rating incentives: rewards for reviews or asking for five stars.
  • Spam signals: emoji, web addresses and all caps in titles, keyword lists and heavy repetition.
  • Pre-release wording such as beta, demo or test version.

How to read the results

High-risk findings are the ones reviewers reject most often; fix them before you submit. Medium and low findings depend on context, such as a brand you have permission to use. The checker matches words and patterns, so it can flag something that's fine in your case. It isn't legal advice and doesn't replace reading each store's current policies.

Questions

Short answers about the store rejection checker and the store rules behind it.

What gets an app's metadata rejected most often?

Mentioning other platforms (such as Android in an App Store listing), price or ranking words like "free" or "#1" in the name, placeholder text, other companies' brand names, and offering rewards for ratings or reviews.

If the checker finds nothing, will my app be approved?

Not necessarily. Reviewers also test the app itself and look at screenshots, privacy details and in-app purchases. This tool covers only the text, where many avoidable rejections start.

Can I ask users to rate my app?

You can ask politely, ideally through the store's own rating prompt. You can't offer coins, unlocks or any reward for a rating or review, or ask for a specific number of stars. Both stores forbid it.
