How it works

Three steps, about a minute

  1. Enter your name and keywords

Your brand name, a main keyword and an optional second one.

  2. Choose a store and category

Subtitle ideas fit 30 characters on iOS, 80 on Google Play.

  3. Copy an idea

Ideas over the limit are crossed out with the overrun.

Your app

Your brand name, as short as you can keep it.

The search people would type to find an app like yours.

What you get

  • Title and subtitle ideas

Brand-first patterns that keep your name readable and your keyword visible.

  • Always within limits

Every idea is measured the way the store measures it.

  • Yours to edit

No AI and no account: a quick list of starting points to adapt.

The guide

How the ideas are made

The generator puts your name first and adds your keywords in the patterns store titles use most: a colon or dash after the name, or the keyword followed by "by" and the name. Ideas that run past the limit stay visible but crossed out, so you can see how much you'd need to cut.

Rules to keep in mind

  • No prices, rankings or promises such as "free", "#1" or "best" in the name. Both stores reject them.
  • Don't use other apps' names or trademarks you don't own.
  • Don't repeat words between the title and subtitle on the App Store; Apple already combines them for search.

Questions

Short answers about the app title generator and the store rules behind it.

What makes a good app title?

Your brand name first, then the one or two words people search for, in a title that still reads naturally. Keep it within 30 characters so nothing is cut off on either store.

Should I put keywords in my app name?

One relevant keyword helps, because the name is the strongest search signal on both stores. Stuffing several in hurts: it looks like spam to people, and both stores can reject titles that are just keyword lists.

What's the difference between a subtitle and a short description?

The App Store gives you a 30-character subtitle under the name. Google Play has no subtitle; it gives you an 80-character short description at the top of the listing instead. Both count for search, so use words that aren't already in your title.
