How it works

Three steps, about a minute

  1. Enter your traffic

Monthly store page views and today's conversion rate.

  2. Set an expected lift

How much better the new page might convert.

  3. Compare

Installs and revenue, today and after, per month and per year.

Your numbers

From the Play Console (store listing visitors) or App Store Connect (product page views).

%

Installs divided by page views.

%

20% turns a 25% conversion rate into 30%.

$

Average revenue a new install brings, from purchases, subscriptions and ads.

Extra search visibility

Extra search visibility Optional

If better keywords should show your app more often in search.

%

The share of those impressions that open your store page.

Estimate per month

Installs today
2,500
Installs after the change
3,000
Revenue today
$1,250
Revenue after the change
$1,500

Difference

Extra installs per month
+500
Extra revenue per month
+$250
Extra installs per year
+6,000
Extra revenue per year
+$3,000

New conversion rate: 30%. New page views: 10,000 per month.

How it's calculated

Installs = page views × conversion rate. After the change, page views add extra impressions × tap-through rate, and the conversion rate grows by the lift. Revenue = installs × revenue per install. This is an estimate from your own assumptions, not a forecast.

What you get

  • Monthly and yearly

See the difference a small conversion lift makes over a year.

  • Formula shown

Every number is explained, so you can check the maths.

  • Search traffic too

Optionally add new search impressions and tap-through.

The guide

What the calculator shows

It compares two months: today, and after your listing converts better (and, if you add them, after it gets more search impressions). The difference is the extra installs and revenue the change could bring. It's a simple model of your own assumptions, so treat it as a way to size an idea, not as a promise.

Getting realistic inputs

  • Page views and conversion come from the Play Console's store performance report or App Store Connect's App Analytics.
  • Lift is best taken from a store listing experiment you ran, not a guess.
  • Extra impressions come from new keywords you expect to rank for; start low.

Questions

Short answers about the aso roi calculator and the store rules behind it.

What is a good store conversion rate?

It varies a lot by category, country and traffic source, so compare against your own past numbers rather than a general benchmark. Both consoles show your rate: page views (or store listing visitors) against first-time installs.

How much can ASO improve conversion?

Changes to the icon, screenshots and first lines of the description often move conversion by a few percent to a few tens of percent. Test them with Google Play store listing experiments or App Store product page optimization before you count on a number.

Where do I find revenue per install?

Divide the revenue from new users over a period, such as their first 30 or 90 days, by the number of installs in that period. Include purchases, subscriptions and ad revenue, after store fees.
